How Do We Raise Children with Racial Empathy? “How Early Life Experiences Shaped My Views About Race” A Panel Discussion of non-Blacks

Dr. Donnay discussed research on reducing prejudice in children and the importance of early childhood socialization to reduce intergroup prejudice.  To illustrate the research in action, we heard from three non-Black racial justice activists on how their early childhood experiences influenced their current interests in racial justice activism.

Just Discipline: An Antidote to the School-To Prison Pipeline In collaboration with Global Citizen 365

In honor of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, presenter Rudy Bankston discussed how punitive discipline school practices created an early life trajectory of imprisonment.  Dr. James Huguley and Shawn E. Thomas discussed how we can eliminate the school-to-prison pipeline by implementing an evidence-based intervention called “Just Discipline”.   Dr. Sandra Donnay and Lucky Bommireddy moderated this webinar.
